I'm almost ashamed to ask about this one. Satrring Sonny (yikes!)Tufts, it was shot on 16mm Kodachrome, with a reputed production cost of $18,000. Its sole claim to fame, if it can be called fame, is Bert I Gordon was the cinematographer.

"Serpent Island" 1954

Thanks a lot.

You should be ashamed! :)

Note the renewal below........But wait, there's more!!!

The registration date is shown in the renewal.

Searching the catalogs for 1953, 1954, and 1955 shows no entry for this movie.

Imdb shows little. It also shows no release date.(Although there are several distirbutors listed.)

AFI..American Film Institute does not have it.
TCM does not have it.
Not even Alpha Video has it.

I assume since you are asking about pd status, that you have a copy.
If so, check for a missing or improper notice. If such is the case it could very well be pd. I say could be because of the registration date noted in the renewal, but not finding one in the catalogs.

Any other thoughts?

Yes in deed I am ashamed, because the only mildly entertaining feature of this klunker is the usually-shirtless Sonny Tufts' attempts at holding in his beer belly. There is a valid notice, so IA users have spared this extremely dubious pleasure.

Thanks very much, OB.
